Character Education
Monthly our students engage in learning from the Umbrella Project. Click here to learn more about this program and how it supports our student’s social and emotional learning.
Nutrition Breaks
Daily our students have two Nutrition Breaks. Our first break is from 10:55am until 11:35am and our second break is from 1:35pm until 2:15pm. Students go outside for twenty minutes and eat in their classrooms for the next 20 minutes. We follow a boomerang lunch program, asking that students bring home their garbage and recycling.
Nutrition for Learning
Nutrition for Learning brings food directly to schools across Waterloo Region. When Students are well-nourished at school, they are given the chance to learn, participate, and thrive. Southridge is a school that participates in this program providing students with nutritious snacks such as fruits or vegetables, protein or dairy and grains. Link here to learn more or to donate to this program.
Pizza For All
Every Friday our School Council organizes a Pizza for All program. All students receive pizza and pay what they can. For the 2023-2024 school year, this program will be starting in October.
