Dear Superstar Families, 

​As we begin a new year, we hope you will consider being involved in the Southridge School Council.    The nomination form is now online, and located under the School Council tab on our school website https://srg.wrdsb.ca/southridge-school-council/. 

Council provides parent feedback to our staff and teachers, coordinates support programs, organizes events like Dance-a-thons or Movie Nights, provides services for lunch time such as weekly pizza for all, as well as fundraising initiatives to finance field trips, special programs​ and resources​ at the school. 

All volunteers must submit a volunteer application with a recent Vulnerable Sector Check issued within the last 6 months. You may use the following volunteering letter to reduce the fee of the vulnerable sector check to $20. Council members and non-members do not require a Vulnerable Sector Check to attend Council meetings. This only applies if you wish to volunteer as part of your participation in Council (i.e. pizza days, community closet clean-up, etc). 

Our first School Council meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. in the School Library. A link will also be provided through School-Day for those who wish to join us virtually. If you are interested in joining as a voting member, be sure to complete the nomination form by September 15, 2024 . All non-voting parents are always welcome to attend these meetings as well.
